ARTICLE 1 — NAME
The name of the organisation shall be THE EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF CELTIC SUPPORTERS’, hereinafter called the “Association”.
ARTICLE 2 — OBJECTIVES
(a) The objectives of the Association are to organise and unite the Celtic Supporters across Europe and to encourage and promote the formation of new clubs within the boundaries of Europe. It will also be a non-profit and non-political organisation.
(c) The European Association of Celtic Supporters stands proudly as an anti-sectarian, anti-racist, anti-misogynistic and anti-homophobic organisation.
Views and actions which contradict the above sentiments will not be accepted.
We celebrate unity, respect, and equality for all, rejecting any form of hatred, intolerance, or discrimination.
(d) The European Association of Celtic Supporters is built on the shared values of solidarity and inclusivity that lie at the heart of Celtic Football Clubs’ founding principles.
We believe football—and the wider community—should be a space where everyone is welcomed, valued, and treated with dignity, regardless of background, belief, gender, or identity.”
(e) The Association shall also seek to preserve and strengthen the links that exist between Celtic F.C. and Europe.
(f) The Association affirms its support for Celtic’s Social Charter and the Celtic Football Club Mission Statement.
ARTICLE 3 — ORGANIZATION
The Association shall be composed of members as hereinafter set out and it shall be managed by a committee constituted as stated in these by-laws.
ARTICLE 4 — MEMBERSHIP
(a) Membership shall be open to all Celtic supporters and supporters’ clubs within the boundaries of Europe (excluding the UK and Ireland).
“Europe”” shall be defined as member nations of UEFA (excluding the UK and Ireland).
All supporters and supporters’ clubs shall conform to the constitution of the Association.”
(b) Membership shall be open to any supporter or club regardless of that supporter or club currently being a member of any other Celtic supporters’ body, Association or affiliation.
Celtic Supporters Clubs shall be Affiliated Members
Individual Supporters shall be Associate Members
(c) The committee of the Association reserves the right to refuse membership to any supporter or supporters club that does not meet the above criteria.
(d) A member supporter or supporters club may be disqualified for breaking any rules of the Association or for any action or neglect that is deemed detrimental to the aims and objectives and the welfare of the Association.
(e) The Committee has the power to suspend or disqualify a member supporter or club.
(f) A suspension must have a time limit and member supporters or clubs under suspension have the right to appeal. An appeal must be lodged in writing with the committee within 14 days of the notification of suspension.
(g) A disqualified member supporter or supporters club has the right to appeal a disqualification to the committee and such an appeal must be lodged in writing with the committee within 14 days of the notification of disqualification. Membership of the Association continues pending the final result of an appeal.
(h) The Association shall not be liable for debts incurred by member supporters or clubs or members of such member clubs.
ARTICLE 5 — MEMBERSHIP FEES
Membership of the Association shall be free.
Any change to this in the future shall be recommended by the Committee and approved and adopted at Special General Meeting of all member supporters and clubs.
ARTICLE 6 — MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS
Each supporter or club is considered a permanent member.
Membership can be terminated by notification to the committee.
ARTICLE 7 — SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING
(a) A Special General Meeting may be called by the Committee by its own motion.
(b) All members shall receive twenty-one (21) days’ notice of the date, time and zoom link to any Special General Meeting.
(c) Only the business for which a Special General Meeting has been called or decided by the committee will be dealt with, except with the majority consent of the voting members present.
(d) All votes made at a Special General Meeting shall be carried by a simple majority of those present.
ARTICLE 8 — VOTING
(a) Those who shall be qualified to vote and take part at all Special General Meetings of the Association shall be the designated delegates of affiliated supporters clubs present.
Associated Individual members are allowed to participate in meetings and discussions (without voting rights).
(b) At all Special General meetings of the Association voting shall be a virtual show of hands via zoom.
(c) Decisions shall be made by a simple majority of the member votes present. Each member has one (1) vote.
ARTICLE 9 — COMMITTEE
(a) The business of the Association shall be conducted by the Committee comprised of the committee members.
(b) The initial Committee shall be comprised of one member from each of the Celtic Supporters Clubs who were founder members of the Association.
(c) The Committee shall have the power to co-opt any member of the Association to join the committee.
(d) The Committee shall have the power to increase or decrease the number of Committee members as they see fit.
(e) Committee members are free to vacate his/her position at any time.
(f) The Committee shall meet not less than one time annually.
(g) All votes made at a Committee Meeting shall be carried by a majority of those present.
(h) Any officers of the Committee who cease to be a member of the Association shall be required to vacate his/her position.
ARTICLE 10 — AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION
(a) All proposed amendments to the constitution shall be forwarded in writing to the committee no later than fourteen (14) days prior to any Special General Meeting.
(b) Amendments to the constitution will require a simple majority of the delegates’ votes present.
ARTICLE 11 – DEALINGS WITH MEDIA ORGANISATIONS
(a) The committee is responsible for all matters relating to the media. All requests and enquiries from the media are to be directed to the committee.
ARTICLE 13 – DISSOLUTION
The Association shall not be dissolved without the consent of two-thirds of its Members present at a meeting specifically convened for that purpose and only on the terms and conditions that the Members may determine.
